Dead Island 2 - Reuben(tator) (2019)

Happy to show off some of the work I did a few years ago on the Pulp Horror hit Dead Island 2 when I was part of the great team at DS Dambuster!
This was one of the more challenging special archetypes we made for the game. Not only did it require two very different body type meshes (but with the same topology), but they also needed to be able to morph into each other in a cool way. I worked a lot with other departments to make this work (tech art, animation, code, etc). A big credit goes to Stanislav Valov for figuring out the conversion to vertex animation in houdini. I was responsible for the meshes, textures, etc., but I also made all the blendshapes (over 60!) and animated them on top of an existing body animation.
